BREAKING: Jorge Sampaoli to take over as the manager of Argentina

Sevilla FC and the Argentine Football Association (AFA) have reached an agreement in principle for Jorge Sampaoli to become Argentina's national team manager.

The agreement is subject to the writing and presentation of relevant documents, which must be signed by all parties on Thursday 1 June.

The figure impliacted in the clause to release Sampaoli from his contract has not been compromised in discussions between Sevilla FC and the AFA, who have acted as Sampaoli's representative.

All parties are satisfied with the agreement reached.

Sergio Aguero joins the 200 club

The Argentine has now broken into the 200 club after netting the opener in the Community Shield against Chelsea on Sunday. He is now part of a select group to have notched a double ton for a single club in English football, joining a host of legends in the game Most recently it was Wayne Rooney who joined that list on his way to 253 goals for Manchester United. Before the Everton striker there was Frank Lampard, who reached 211 goals at Chelsea, and Thierry Henry, the only player to net over 200 times for Arsenal. Alan Shearer netted the last of his 206 goals for Newcastle in 2006, a total bettered by one by Matt Le Tissier at Southampton. Arsenal make Alexis Sanchez huge £270,000 offer to stay at the Emirates

Arsenal have made another offer to contract rebel Alexis Sanchez in a bid to keep him from Bayern Munich’s clutches. The deal is understood to be about £270,000 a week, short of the £300,000 the Chile star is demanding. However, the offer is loaded with incentives taking it closer to the figure he wants.
